At the Pennsylvania Forestry Association’s Annual Dinner, the Pennsylvania Tree Farm Committee had the pleasure of awarding the Pennsylvania Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year and the Outstanding Tree Farm Inspector of the Year to deserving recipients. Jim Kessler, with woodlands in Susquehanna County, received the 2016 Outstanding Tree Farmer award. Robin Wildermuth from Tafton was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Inspector award. Congratulations to our award winners!

On a personal note, for the past five years I have worked as the program administrator and want to thank the state committee for the opportunity. I enjoyed talking with and meeting Pennsylvania Tree Farmers across the state. My position ended September 30. Nonetheless, I look forward to continuing as a Tree Farmer in northwestern Pennsylvania. While details for transitioning administrative duties to the Pennsylvania Forestry Association are still evolving, you can reach the program , and for now the phone number will remain the same (724-977-0867).
