This presentation provides an introduction to woodlot management and shows how numerous practices for both forestry and wildlife can be implemented on your property. The webinar begins by providing an overview of pertinent ecological and forest management principles that will help guide your decisions. Then a number of forest and wildlife management practices are covered in detail. These include timber stand improvement, harvesting, regeneration, controlling competing vegetation, and tree planting. For wildlife, we discuss specific natural habitat elements that provide food and cover and increase overall habitat diversity on your property. Finally, we wrap things up by discussing how you can get started improving your woodlot to meet your objectives for ownership.
