Centre County Conservation District

The Centre County Conservation District (CCCD) is a committed, professional agency functioning as the primary local source of environmental assistance to all individuals and organizations in Centre County. The District’s goal is to sustain
and improve the county’s natural resources. Two staff members work exclusively with farmers, implementing Best Management Practices on the farms. Two staff members issue stream permits for restoration projects and work with the construction industry to manage stormwater runoff during construction. Another staff member assists environmental nonprofit groups and local governments in carrying out restoration projects. The District also provides watershed education to county schools and works with Penn State University to collaborate on environmental projects. There is a Conservation District in every county in Pennsylvania, except Philadelphia County, and in counties in most states in the nation. Districts work closely with the federal, state, and local agencies in protecting our environment.
