Unlike fish that inhabit larger waterways, many threats to stream fish can be traced back to improper management of land adjacent to the stream corridor. This presentation will discuss the threats to stream fish communities, common warning signs that in-stream habitat is declining, and the actions landowners can take to protect and improve stream habitat. There will be a special emphasis on coldwater stream communities, including trout streams commonly found throughout Pennsylvania. Presented by Shannon White, PhD Candidate, Penn State Department of Ecosystem Science and Management.
