Students, researchers, and government agencies use the collection and related publications to study the impacts of industrial development and urbanization on the commonwealth’s waterways. Tracking human impact on the environment and on species includes documenting extirpated and invasive species.
Fishes of Pennsylvania
As part of a current project to revise Cooper's (1983) Fishes of Pennsylvania we have catalogued underwater video clips of many of the fishes found in Pennsylvania's waters, providing information on unique behavior of introduced and indigenous fishes.
