Join us for inspiration and refreshments while former ESM graduate student Cat Pugh demonstrates the block printing techniques she uses to create images of Pennsylvania's unique flora.
Speaker Bio: Cathryn Pugh is a local block print artist whose works often highlight native Pennsylvanian forest plants. She has taught introductory printing classes at the Lemont Art Alliance, and her prints have been featured in Penn State ethnobotanical research efforts, distributed across the US. Professionally, Cat is a Forestry Educator for Penn State Extension in Centre County. She is passionate about weaving together art and forestry to reach new audiences and expanding her programming around non-timber forest products, native plants, and forest ecology statewide.
Agenda:
• 3:00 PM: We’ll kick off with a formal presentation where our featured artist will provide an overview of her work and share the inspirations behind her artistic journey.
• 3:30PM- 4:30PM: After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, designing beautiful cards using various types of stamps.
• Enjoy a selection of coffee tea and cookies throughout the event! (Provided in part by the ESM GSO)
