Weaver Forest Access ALERT!

Posted: October 8, 2012

The Penn State Weaver Forest metal access gate off of Marengo Road will be closed & locked for the duration of the 2012-2013 Pennsylvania hunting seasons.

Since the inception of the PGC DMAP until the 2011-2012 hunting season Penn State had opened the access gate to licensed passenger vehicles during the modern rifle reason through late season flintlock/archery seasons.

The approx. 390 acre Penn State owned and managed Weaver Forest in Ferguson Township, Centre County is still open to the public for hunting and recreating but access will be restricted to walking, hiking riding a bike or riding a horse.  No motorized vehicles of any type will be permitted beyond the closed & locked access gate.

In recent years an unacceptable number of killed and unrecovered whitetail deer have been found left after the close of the modern rifle season.
