The Maurice K. Goddard Chair in Forestry and Environmental Resource Conservation supports science-policy dialogue forums on a range of environmental challenges of relevance in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region. The objective of the Goddard Forum is to build shared vision among decision-makers, the public, and research and extension professionals to advance evidence-based policy engagement.

The Goddard Chair partnered with the Eastern Fire Network (EFNet) and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to address the growing challenge of wildfire in the Commonwealth and across the Eastern United States.
The Goddard Forum 2025 brought together a diverse group of experts, practitioners, and community members to address the multifaceted challenges of flood mitigation and resilience. The forum was preceded by site visits to flood-impacted areas along the Susquehanna River, presenting real flood risk challenges to the participants.
2024 forum focused on climate-smart forestry, including carbon management and timber harvesting.
