MS student Abby Owens and PhD Student Jhony Benavides graduated in Summer 2023.
Abby's research examined long-term soil change at Penn State's living Filter across the three primary soil systems comprising the property. Jhony used Structure for Motion and multispectral data acquisition via drones to develop numerous high-resolution landscape models that evaluated surface runoff and wetness for helping predict agricultural runoff pathways.
