Participating in a PA Forests Web Live Webinar

After registering, we will send you an email a few days before the event, and again the day of the event, that contains a link to webinar.

During the webinar, you can view and hear the presentation and ask questions using the chat feature. Presentations will usually last about an hour, though sometimes questions can run long.

PA Forests Webinar site

Approximately 20 minutes prior to the presentation, go to the PA Forests Webinar site.

The site is accessible, but there won't be any action until approximately 20 minutes prior to the presentation. A welcome note will be visible and music will be playing on the site.

Computer Requirements

To view live and previously recorded webinars you will need a high-speed Internet connection (e.g. DSL or cable modem) and sound.

Dial-up modems are not recommended, but other options include visiting your local library or Penn State Extension office. Please contact your local Penn State Extension office beforehand if you would like to participate from that location.

Participation in the webinar does not require any special software.

Testing the Connection

You can test your connection to the webinar site at any time to ensure that you don't have any glitches.

Try this now and let us know if you have a problem signing in. You'll repeat the same sign-in process at the time of the presentation.

Logging In

You may log in as a Guest, which does not require a user ID or password.

Testing Your Sound

When you arrive at the site, you can test your sound capacity via the "meeting" pull-down menu and then the audio wizard. During the conference, participants will be able to hear but not speak to the presenters.

If you are using a dial-up modem, experience tells us that the graphics and pictures will display, but the sound may lag a bit. This may be frustrating to some users.

Questions and Comments

You can practice typing a note on the "Questions and Comments" chat box. We will clear all existing notes before the presentation begins.

The site will officially open for the presentation 10 minutes prior to each session (noon and 7:00 PM).

An Adobe Connect Diagnostic is available. If you are having trouble with your connection, run this diagnostic. Answers to commonly asked questions can also be found here.
