Where Chicory Lane Farm - Spring Mills, PA
John Smith, co-owner of ChicoryLane, and James Lesher, Land Manager,
will focus on the concept of Ecological Enhancement. John will lead off,
explaining principles and practices aimed at qualitative land improvement.
Next, James will guide a tour through various terrains that show different
applications of this practical methodology. After lunch, he and John on a
second walk will highlight native shrubs like virburna and dogwoods,
emphasizing their different ecological functions and value for wildlife.
We're also expecting a representative from Interfaith Power and Light,
who works with Chesapeake Bay Foundation, to discuss the Ten Million
Trees project and how you can obtain free native trees and shrubs for
your own projects.
