If you are a private forest owner interested in learning how to sustainably manage your forest for optimal health, resiliency, and quality wildlife habitat, consider attending one of these field tours. During the tour, participants will see first-hand various forest management practices, learn the latest scientific recommendations, and engage with forestry and wildlife experts.

Topics that will be included:

  • Invasive species management
  • Treating competing vegetation
  • Impacts of high deer pressure
  • Stages of sustainable timber harvest
  • Young forest tending/crop tree release
  • Benefits to forest wildlife
  • Overview of programs that provide financial and technical assistance to private landowners (e.g., Natural Resources Conservation Service)
