The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF)
is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the American chestnut (Castanea dentata) tree to its native forests through a scientific research and breeding program developed by TACF's founders.Through a series of backcrossed and intercrossed generations, TACF hopes to create a tree that is blight-resistant and which retains as many American chestnut traits as possible.
