The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF)
is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the American chestnut (Castanea dentata) tree to its native forests through a research program implemented through collaborations between professional and citizen scientists. Using the 3BUR approach (Breeding, Biocontrol and Biotechnology United for Restoration), TACF hopes to create a tree that is disease-resistant tree which retains as many American chestnut traits as possible.
